So I finally pulled the trigger on the X-T5 and man that 40mp sensor is no joke. Im looking for a do-it-all prime lens but keep hitting a wall with my research. Everyone says the new 33mm f1.4 is the way to go for the high res sensor but then I keep seeing people rave about the old 35mm f1.4 having that magic look even if its slower to focus. I'm gonna be using it for street stuff around London mostly.
- Budget: Under 800 quid if possible
- Weather sealing is a huge plus since it rains literally every day here
- Size: I dont want a massive brick hanging off my neck
Should I just go for the newer glass to match the sensor or is the older stuff still okay for 40mp? Is the 23mm f2 too soft for this body?...

If you want reliability on that 40mp sensor, stick to newer WR lenses. The old 35mm is risky in London rain.
- Fujifilm Fujinon XF 33mm f/1.4 R LM WR: Best for resolution and weather sealing. Its the most consistent choice for this body.
- Fujifilm Fujinon XF 23mm f/2 R WR: Compact for street. Its slightly soft at f2 close up, but fine at normal distances. Both are safer choices than the older glass.
