Honestly so fed up with my current 24-105 zoom for street work. Its just way too bulky and not sharp enough in the corners when I need to crop later. Im shooting with an S5ii in Chicago and the weight is killing my wrist after a few hours of wandering. I need something small and actually sharp.
- Budget: under 800 bucks
- Needs to be weather sealed
- Preferably 35mm or 50mm
- Fast enough for low light
Really need to get this sorted before a trip to Seattle next month because I cant deal with this lens anymore. Any ideas what I should grab that wont break the bank or my back?
Honestly, ditching that zoom for a prime is the best move you could make for street work. I've been shooting with a compact prime on my S5 for ages and my wrist has never been happier. Just watch out for those cheap manual focus lenses that claim to be weather sealed but leak like a sieve. You really want something with proper gaskets if you're hitting Seattle, or you're gonna have a bad time.
