Ive been staring at my cart for hours trying to decide on a standard zoom for my new S5II. Im moving over from Sony and the lens landscape here feels a bit different. I saw a lot of people raving about the Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 Art and the image quality looks insane but then I saw some folks complaining about the weight and dust issues in the older versions which kinda freaks me out since Ill be doing a lot of outdoor stuff. My logic was that I need that f2.8 for low light but then I saw the Panasonic 24-105mm f4 has that extra reach and the dual IS which might be better for handheld video?
Im shooting a wedding for my cousin in Chicago this September and I really only want to carry one lens for the whole day if I can help it. Budget is strictly under $1200 so the Leica glass is totally out of the question haha. I also looked at the Sigma 28-70 f2.8 because its so tiny but Im worried 28mm isnt wide enough for the group shots in tight spaces. Its like every time I lean one way I find a reason to doubt it. Is the 24-105 f4 actually pro enough for a wedding or am I gonna regret not having the 2.8 for the reception...

I have been really satisfied with their native zoom lenses because the stabilization is just unmatched, really. My experience using their glass for events has been great. No complaints. It works well for basically everything and the build quality is top notch tbh. You cant go wrong sticking with the native brand.
