I just got this SL2-S as a gift and honestly I feel so out of my depth lol. It looks so fancy but I have no idea how to actually use it yet or what lenses go with it. I want to take those nice blurry background photos of my kids but when I look online there are so many options and the prices are just... insane. I live in Seattle so its mostly gonna be indoor shots since it rains all the time. My budget is maybe 2 grand but Id prefer cheaper if that even exists for this brand.
Is there like one specific lens that everyone uses for portraits? I keep seeing different numbers like 50mm or 85mm and it makes my head spin. What should I buy?
Unfortunately, Leica branded lenses are insanely expensive and I actually had focus issues with their entry-level stuff. It wasnt as good as expected for that massive price tag. Honestly just get the Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG DN Art L-Mount. It is way under your budget and gives that amazing blurry look without the Leica tax. Definitely better value for shooting kids indoors.
