What's the absolute best walk-around lens for the Nikon Z system if I want to stop swapping glass every five minutes? Ive been shooting on a D850 for a decade so I know my way around a DSLR but I finally jumped to a Z7II last month for a big trip to Iceland in September and the transition is weirder than I thought.
I got the 24-70 f/4 kit lens but it feels a bit limiting on the long end and the f/2.8 S-line is just too heavy and pricey for hiking. I have about $1200 to spend and need something that handles wide landscapes but can still do a decent portrait... maybe the 24-120mm f/4? Or am I missing something better?
> maybe the 24-120mm f/4? Def grab the Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-120mm f/4 S! Its fantastic value and that constant f/4 is a win. Best S-line glass under your $1200 budget!
Regarding what #1 said about the Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-120mm f/4 S, it is technically the most versatile choice. Quick tip: keep a blower handy. Will you be using a tripod for landscapes?

TL;DR: Factor in the environment! Like someone mentioned, that range is fantastic for travel. Are you planning on shooting any wildlife or strictly landscapes? Also, how important is low-light for the aurora...?
