I am so over carrying three different lenses every time I go out to shoot street stuff in downtown Seattle its actually driving me insane. I have the 28-70 kit lens and it is just... blurry? I dont know how else to describe it but the corners are trash and I feel like im missing every good shot because I'm busy swapping to my 50mm prime whenever the sun goes down or I get into a cool alleyway. Honestly fed up with the weight of my bag and the constant sensor dust from all the swapping, it makes me not even want to take the camera out sometimes.
But im actually super hyped because I finally saved up about $1100 and I want to just get one holy grail lens that I never have to take off my A7III. I'm going to Tokyo next month and I really dont want to be that guy fumbling with lens caps in the middle of a crowded train station. I need something that can handle a bit of everything:
- low light since I love night photography
- wide enough for architecture but has some zoom range
- fast autofocus because I tend to move pretty quick
I’ve been looking at the Tamron 28-75 or maybe the Sigma 24-70 but I hear such mixed things about the weight and the dust issues. I just want something reliable that stays on the body 90% of the time. What is actually the best all-around lens for Sony mirrorless cameras that wont make me regret leaving my primes at home?
