i am so incredibly done with carrying this massive bag of primes everywhere its actually ruining my workflow and my back hurts lol. i have this trip to kyoto next month and i really dont want to be swapping glass every five minutes while im trying to see the shrines. honestly im just so frustrated with my current kit lens because the low light is trash and the focal range is just meh. im looking to drop maybe $1100 on one single lens that can stay on my a7iii forever. what is the best all-around lens for sony mirrorless cameras that actually handles everything from street to landscape without sucking?
I once dragged four primes through Italy and my back still hasn't forgiven me. For Kyoto, I would suggest looking at the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III VXD G2. Just be careful with the 28mm wide end; it might feel a bit tight for those narrow shrine paths. Make sure to check the weather sealing before you head out into any rain.
