Sigma Rumored to Announce Up to Three New E-Mount Lenses, Including 85mm F1.2

Sigma 85mm F1.2 DG DN Art lens

Sigma may be lining up a bigger drop than just one portrait prime. Sony Alpha Rumors says the company will soon hold a major product announcement event — and that E-mount shooters could see up to three new lenses.

The first name on that list is already known. The rest is still rumor.

The 85mm F1.2 Is the Safe Bet

Sigma officially confirmed the 85mm F1.2 DG | Art back in February, for Sony E-mount and L-Mount, with a September 2026 launch window. Dual HLA autofocus, compact Art-line styling, and a finish to the 35mm / 50mm / 85mm F1.2 set. We covered the development announcement here.

Sony Alpha Rumors expects that lens to be part of the coming event — which would fit the September timing Sigma already published.

Plus a Zoom — and Maybe the World’s Fastest 65mm

According to SAR’s sources, the event should also include one more zoom. No focal length or aperture was named this time, so treat that as an unnamed extra, not a locked spec sheet.

The third rumor is the spicy one: possibly the world’s fastest 65mm lens. That tracks with earlier spring chatter that Sigma would show a full-frame 65mm autofocus prime faster than F1.2 — which, if true, would have to be around F1.0 / F1.1 class. Sigma already sells the much slower 65mm F2 DG DN Contemporary, so an ultra-fast 65mm would be a different product entirely.

SAR is careful on this one: the 85mm is likely, the zoom is expected, the 65mm is a “maybe.”

What We Still Don’t Know

  • Exact event date
  • Which zoom is coming
  • Whether the 65mm actually appears, or at what aperture
  • Pricing for any of the new glass

Until Sigma publishes an invite or a press release, this is a three-lens rumor package, not a launch. The one solid piece is still the 85mm F1.2 Art, already on the calendar for September.
