Canon has just officially announced the new Canon RF 5.2mm F2.8 L Dual Fisheye lens. It is paired with Canon EOS R5 updated with firmware 1.5.0 or higher and one of Canon’s VR software solutions – you can create immersive 3D that can be experienced when viewed on compatible head mount displays including the Oculus Quest 2 and more. Viewers will be able to take in the scene with a vivid, wide field of view by simply moving their head. This is the world’s first digital interchangeable lens that can capture stereoscopic 3D 180° VR imagery to a single image sensor. Along with Canon RF 16mm F2.8 STM lens (Amazon/ B&H/ Adorama), Canon also officially announced the new Canon RF 100-400mm F5.6-8 IS USM lens. It is a relatively compact tele-zoom lens for the company’s full-frame mirrorless system, featuring 12 elements, including UD and aspherical glass, as well as Canon’s Super Spectra Coating to reduce ghosting and flare. The minimum focus distance is 88cm (2.9 feet) at 200mm, and the maximum magnification is 0.41x (at 400mm). For even more reach, Canon’s 1.4x and 2x teleconverters can be used.
Canon has just officially announced the new Canon RF 16mm F2.8 STM lens. It is a compact and lightweight ultra-wide lens for Canon’s full-frame mirrorless system, featuring nine elements, as well as Canon’s Super Spectra Coating to reduce ghosting and flare. The lens has a minimum focus distance of 13cm (5.1″) and a maximum magnification of 0.26x. Its control ring can be used for manual focus or another function that users can assign.
