Recommend the best travel lens for the Canon EOS R7.

Question

Been shooting Canon for years but just picked up the R7 for my Italy trip. I thought my old EF 24-105 would be fine but its way too front-heavy with the adapter. Totally underestimated the balance issues.

Looking for a light native lens under 800 dollars for street and landscapes. What do you recommend?

Coming back to this... Like someone mentioned, the Canon RF-S 18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM is basically the safest move for the R7. I have been very satisfied with mine and it works well for almost every travel scenario.Balance and Weight: It weighs roughly 310g. Using native RF-S glass keeps the center of gravity much closer to your hand, which solves your front-heavy issue.IBIS Synergy: The R7 has great in-body stabilization, but it works best with native lenses. You get Coordinated Control IS which is much more reliable than using an adapted EF lens.Cost: It is very affordable. You could actually add the Canon RF 28mm f/2.8 STM pancake lens for low-light street scenes and still stay under your 800 dollar budget. I have had no complaints with this setup. Sticking to native lenses is just safer for the autofocus speed.

> its way too front-heavy with the adapter I learned that lesson the hard way in Portugal. My neck was killing me! Honestly, just grab the Canon RF-S 18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM. It is super light and versatile, tho the aperture is slow. For street stuff at night, I always pack the Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 Macro IS STM too. It is way sharper but you lose that zoom convenience. Both balance way better.
