whats the best cheap lens that doesnt zoom for a canon r50? sorry if this is a dumb question but i just got this camera for my sisters wedding next week in denver and i have no idea what im doing. i want those really blurry backgrounds in the portraits but the kit lens isnt doing it. my budget is super tight like maybe $150 or $200 max since the camera was already so expensive. i heard prime lenses are better for this? but i dont know which one actually fits the r50 or if i need a special adapter thingy. please help i need to order it today so it gets here in time...
In my experience, you definitely want the Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 STM. It fits your R50 natively. No adapter needed. Ive tried many budget lenses over the years and this is the gold standard for portraits.
- Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 STM: Incredible blur for weddings but slightly zoomed in. Fits your budget.
- Canon RF 28mm f/2.8 STM: Super small and easy to carry but less blurry backgrounds. Get the 50mm. Its perfect.
