So I recently upgraded to the Canon R6 for my weekend portrait gig here in Seattle, mostly shooting families outdoors. I need a solid portrait lens but I'm stuck. I looked at the RF 85mm f1.2 but it is way out of my budget, and then I saw reviews for the RF 85mm f2 macro saying the autofocus is kinda slow and hunts a lot, which wont work for squirmy kids. My budget is around $1200 max and I need something before a big shoot next month. Should I look at adapting older EF glass like the Sigma 85mm Art, or is there a better RF native option I'm overlooking?

In my experience, you should definitely adapt. Grab this:
- Sigma 85mm f1.4 DG HSM Art EF It focuses fast enough for kids.
