Honestly I'm so over this stupid 18-45mm kit lens that came with my R10. It is literally useless the second the sun goes down or if im just trying to take photos of my cat inside. Everything comes out all grainy and blurry because the aperture is so small... its driving me crazy. I have my sisters grad party coming up next month here in Seattle and I refuse to use this kit lens for it.
I really need something that can actually handle:
- indoor lighting without a flash
- sharp portraits of people
- a budget under $300
Should I just get that cheap 50mm rf or is there something better for a crop sensor like this?

I'm very satisfied with the Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 STM. It works well for indoor portraits and is easily the most cost-effective choice for your budget.
