ive been shooting with my 90d for years mostly using the 18-135mm kit lens for hiking but i just got roped into doing photos for my cousins engagement party next saturday and i realize my current glass wont handle the dim restaurant lighting. im freaking out because my budget is tight maybe 150 bucks max and i need to order something today.

im looking at the canon 50mm f1.8 stm but im worried itll be way too tight for a crowded room on a crop sensor... but then the 24mm pancake is only f2.8 which isnt that fast. i really dont want to mess this up so which one would actually be more useful for tight indoor shots?
