Im finally upgrading my crusty old X-T2 for a huge Japan trip next month and Im so stoked! I saw some cheaper listings on eBay but they look like sketchy gray market stuff and B&H is still stuck at $1699. Is there any legit promo or education discount happening right now that I missed?

TL;DR: Try MPB for a Mint used copy to save $200. I would suggest being careful with eBay. When I was shopping, I compared the Fujifilm X-T5 Mirrorless Digital Camera 40.2MP IBIS against the Fujifilm X-S20 Mirrorless Camera 26.1MP 6K. Tbh the X-T5 and its X-Processor 5 are killer for cropping, but the X-S20 is lighter for trekking Osaka. Make sure to check for sensor dust. Japan is gonna be epic!

> B&H is still stuck at $1699 Like someone mentioned, waiting for a Fuji sale is usually a recipe for disappointment. I spent weeks refreshing pages before a trip to Iceland last year hoping the Fujifilm X-T5 Mirrorless Camera Body 40.2MP would drop, but it honestly never budged from that price point. Its pretty frustrating how they hold their value so well compared to Sony or Canon. Unfortunately, even the EDU discounts arent as good as they used to be. Usually, they just throw in a cheap SD card or a bag rather than knocking actual cash off the body. I had issues with a gray market unit once where the sensor had a dead pixel and Fuji USA basically told me I was on my own for repairs. Never again, totally not worth the $200 savings. If you are looking to save money for the actual trip, check out the used market on MPB or the official Fujifilm refurbished store. Sometimes you can snag a like new unit for around $1500. Just keep in mind that with those 40MP files, youre gonna need beefier storage. I ended up having to buy a SanDisk 128GB Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-II because my old V30 cards just couldnt keep up with the buffer. Its a rabbit hole, honestly. If the price is still too steep, the Fujifilm X-S20 Mirrorless Camera has the same processor for way less, tho you lose those sexy vintage dials.
