Id actually avoid buying new. A used Sony Alpha 7 IV 33MP keeps you under budget, but a used Sony Alpha 7R III 42.4MP gives you more cropping power for weddings.

- Use an EDU discount. If you have an old college email or know a student, Adorama's program drops the price of a brand new one significantly.
- Consider the Sony Alpha 7C II Compact Mirrorless Camera. It has the exact same sensor and autofocus system as the IV, but it is cheaper and easily fits under your $2000 budget brand new. Oh man, that is a total nightmare situation! You are making the right call going with the A7IV though, it is an amazing upgrade from the III.
