I have been scouring the web for a decent Z6 deal because I need a backup body for a wedding I'm shooting next month and I'm honestly so annoyed. I checked the official Nikon refurb site and they've been out of stock for weeks. Then I saw one on Adorama but the price is barely lower than a new Z6II with the current rebates which makes zero sense. I really dont want to spend more than 900 bucks since it's just a secondary camera.
My requirements:
- Under $900 total budget
- Must be from a site with a real warranty or return policy
- Needs to ship to the US fast
Has anyone seen anything actually in stock lately or am I just looking in the wrong places...
> I checked the official Nikon refurb site and they've been out of stock for weeks. Check Nikon Z6 24.5MP Mirrorless Camera at MPB. Their six-month warranty offers protection similar to a refurb, and pricing usually stays around $850, so you dont have to overpay at Adorama.
Late to the party but do you need the FTZ adapter too?
- KEH Nikon Z6 Mirrorless Body has a 180-day warranty and strict grading.
- Used B&H Nikon Z6 24.5MP ships faster tho.
Just jumped into this thread and honestly, finding a Z6 under 900 is totally doable if you know where the secret stashes are! I absolutely love the Z6 for its low-light performance—that 24.5MP BSI sensor is still a beast for weddings.
- You should definitely check UsedPhotoPro Nikon Z6 24.5MP FX-Format Mirrorless. They are the retail side of Roberts Camera and they are fantastic with their grading. I've seen them listed around $840 lately and they give you a 180-day warranty.
- Look for eBay Refurbished Nikon Z6 Body sold specifically by authorized dealers. You often get a 1-year Allstate warranty included, which is actually longer than what Nikon offers on their own refurb site!
- Since it is a backup, make sure you have the firmware updated for Eye-Detection AF—it makes a massive difference for those ceremony shots! You are gonna love how this handles! Let me know if you need help decoding shutter counts or anything else before you buy.
To add to the point above: are you already set on memory cards for this thing? Since the Z6 only has that single slot, you really need a reliable card, and those XQD or CFexpress cards can be pricey enough to blow your budget if you dont have them already. Speaking of wedding reliability...
- I remember this one ceremony where the ring bearer, who was like four, decided to throw the rings into a fountain right before the vows.
- I spent the next twenty minutes trying to get a shot of the best man wading through the water in a tuxedo.
- The lighting was actually perfect for it tho, very soft and romantic for a total disaster.
- I think I still have the photos of him dripping wet at the altar. Anyway lol, sorry kinda went off topic there. Just thinking about how unpredictable these wedding gigs get.
