trying to snag a Nikon before my trip next month and im torn between a used D5600 or a new D3500 kit.

my logic was the flip screen on the 5600 is cool but a new beginner kit with a warranty fits my $500 budget better. anyone seen any sales lately?

ngl i spent weeks looking for deals before my last trip. i ended up going with the Nikon D3500 24.2MP DSLR with 18-55mm VR Lens because i found a refurbished one directly from nikon that was basically a steal. i am super satisfied with it too. the battery life is actually insane... like, i didnt have to charge it for three days of shooting straight. if youre really worried about the budget, the D3500 is the way to go. i know that flip screen on the Nikon D5600 DX-Format Digital SLR is tempting for selfies or weird angles, but for travel, the lighter weight of the 3500 is a huge win. it works well for everything i need. i suggest checking out places like adorama or b&h for their used or open box deals. they usually give a 90-day warranty even on used stuff which really helps with the peace of mind. i've had no complaints with mine and i am really happy with how the photos turned out compared to my phone. just make sure you grab a fast card like the SanDisk Extreme PRO 64GB SDXC UHS-I Card so you dont get lag while the buffer clears. you're gonna have a blast on your trip regardless of which one you pick up, let me know if you need help with the settings later!
