Prime Day is literally tomorrow and I am losing my mind trying to find a decent starter camera under $500. I need something compact for my trip to Italy next month.
My logic was to grab a Sony a6000 since everyone recommends it for beginners, but the Prime deals I'm seeing still have it listed way over budget, or it's just garbage bundles with useless plastic tripods. I also saw the Canon Rebel T7 on sale but it looks so bulky for travel. What am I missing here? Are there any actual good mirrorless deals right now under 500?

I ended up grabbing the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX85 with 12-32mm Lens last year for under $500. It is absolutely amazing for travel, super compact, and the stabilization is a lifesaver when walking down cobblestone streets!
Re: "Im really satisfied with the Olympus OM-D E-M10..."
- Agree, it works well.
- Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV: Great stabilization, very reliable travel pick.
- Canon EOS M50 Mark II: Better video but battery life is mediocre.
Im really satisfied with the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV with 14-42mm EZ Lens. Its super compact, the stabilization works well, and honestly I have no complaints using it for travel.
