Ive been staring at the cart for the RF 24-70mm f/2.8 L for like a week now because I have this wedding gig in late August and really need the glass but my budget is pretty firm at $2000 so I'm hoping for a miracle. I did some digging and saw one price tracker saying they did like 10% off last year but then this other guy on a gear forum said it was only the nifty fifty and the cheap RF-S stuff that gets the Prime Day love. So I was thinking... does Canon even let Amazon drop prices on the high end L series? My logic was they might want to clear stock but honestly it feels like a gamble. Definitely not worth the risk for a paid wedding gig. Instead, keep a close eye on the Canon USA Refurbished store. They run these random refurbished sales where they knock 10% to 15% off. I grabbed my Canon RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM that way and it literally looked brand new. A refurbished 24-70mm usually drops to around $1899 during those promos, and you still get the full 1-year warranty. Much safer than waiting on Prime Day.
