Where are you guys seeing the actual best Black Friday deals for Canon mirrorless bodies and lenses this year? Im trying to finally upgrade from my old Rebel T6 to something like an EOS R6 Mark II or maybe the R8 if the price is right but I keep getting stuck. I looked at the big sites like Adorama and B&H already and they have these holiday bundle deals, but honestly a lot of those extra accessories like the tiny tripods and off-brand filters look like cheap trash I wouldnt ever use, so I cant tell if the savings are even real or just inflated for the marketing.

My budget is strictly around $1500 to $1800 for a body and maybe one decent prime lens. I live near Chicago so I could go to a physical store if they have better in-person doorbusters, though I usually prefer ordering online to avoid the madness. I read on a couple forums that Best Buy might have better gift card promos instead of direct discounts, but then I saw some people claiming Canons own refurbished store is actually where the deepest price cuts happen during the week of Thanksgiving.

I really want to get this sorted before the end of the month because I have a bunch of family events and holiday parties coming up in December where I need way better low-light performance than what my old crop sensor can handle. Is it better to wait until the actual Friday morning or are these early access sales usually as low as they're gonna go...

Dude, you are spot on about those bundles! Most of that free stuff is literally plastic waste that ends up in a drawer. If you want the absolute best bang for your buck, stop looking at the retail bundles and go straight to the Canon Refurbished store on their official site. I have bought three bodies from there and they look and smell brand new every time! Honestly the deep discounts there are way better than any gift card promo at Best Buy. For your $1800 budget, you can actually snag a killer setup if you time it right:

  • Canon EOS R6 Mark II Mirrorless Camera Body
  • I have seen this hit $1799 refurbished during holiday sales, which is an absolute steal for that sensor.
  • Canon EOS R8 Mirrorless Camera Body
  • This usually drops way low, leaving you tons of room for glass.
  • Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 Macro IS STM Lens
  • This is the ultimate low-light holiday party lens. Fantastic bokeh and super sharp! Since you are near Chicago, you could swing by a local shop to feel them in hand, but the online refurb deals are usually where the real magic happens. Dont wait until Friday morning tho... those refurb stocks are super limited and people pounce on them the second they go live. You are gonna love the jump from a T6 because the autofocus on these things is seriously mind-blowing!
