Where should I be looking to find the best Black Friday sales for a mirrorless camera? I am totally new to this and honestly have no idea what I am doing so sorry if this is a really basic question. I have been using my phone for everything but I really want to get into real photography before my family trip to the coast next year. My budget is probably around $900 total if that is even possible for a good setup? I keep seeing ads for different brands like Sony and Nikon but I don't really understand the difference between them or why some are so much more expensive than others.
I just want something that isnt too heavy to carry around when I go hiking but still takes those really crisp photos with the blurry backgrounds you know? Is it better to wait for the actual day or do the deals start early on sites like Best Buy or those specialized camera stores? I am kinda worried I am gonna buy something that is already outdated or just not right for a beginner like me because there are just so many numbers and letters in the names... like what even is the difference between an a6000 and an a6400 besides the price? Any advice on where to track these prices would be great.
omg you are going to LOVE getting into photography!! $900 is actually a fantastic budget for a starter mirrorless setup. honestly i was so scared of buying the wrong thing too when i started but you really cant go wrong with the big names if you stick to the main shops. for the best deals definitely keep an eye on B&H Photo and Adorama... they are way more reliable for camera gear than random sites and usually start their sales a week or two early! i personally started with the Sony Alpha a6400 Mirrorless Camera with 16-50mm Lens and it is seriously amazing for hiking because it is so light. the a6000 is super old now so definitely go for the a6400 if you see a sale because the autofocus is way faster for family shots. to get that blurry background look you just need to keep your aperture low!! good luck you got this!!
