I’m finally gonna do it and get a real camera! I've been looking at those Canon mirrorless ones because the photos look so pro but honestly I have no idea where to start. I’ve only ever used my phone and all the lens talk is super confusing... sorry if this is a dumb question but I’m just so excited to start taking better pictures of my cat! I’ve saved up about $800 and want to buy something during the November sales. Where can I find the best Black Friday deals on Canon mirrorless cameras?
To add to the point above: make sure to be careful with those massive bundles you see on Amazon or some of the bigger retailers during the sales. I have been shooting for a long time and I have seen so many people get lured in by those 50-piece accessory kits. Most of that stuff is low quality and you wont actually use it. Honestly, you are better off buying the camera and lens alone. For an $800 budget, you might want to consider the Canon EOS R50 with RF-S 18-45mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM Lens Kit. It is a great starting point for technical performance, especially the eye-tracking which is perfect for cats. But if you want that pro look, I would suggest looking for a deal on the Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 STM too. The kit lens is fine for daytime, but the 50mm is what gets you that nice background blur. Keep an eye on Best Buy or even Target. They sometimes have bundle deals that include an extra battery or a bag that are actually worth it. Just make sure to verify it is an authorized dealer so you dont run into warranty issues later. It is kinda a minefield out there during Black Friday... just stay focused on the body and the glass.
> Where can I find the best Black Friday deals on Canon mirrorless cameras? honestly just go with canon, you seriously cant go wrong with their ecosystem for pet photography! i have been tracking their sensor specs and data for years and the technical performance in their newer mirrorless bodies is just amazing for the price point. for an 800 dollar budget you should definitely watch these spots during the november sales:
- B&H Photo
- Adorama
- Canon USA Refurbished Store i started my photography journey with a basic canon setup and the transition from a phone was mind blowing. their mirrorless systems have incredible eye-tracking autofocus that works fantastic for fast moving cats. just grab any of the recent mirrorless models from canon that come with a kit lens and you will be set. you wont need to worry about the technical lens specs right away because the base glass is perfect for learning the ropes. keep an eye on those bundle deals since they usually throw in extras like sd cards which is super helpful for a beginner...
