I’ve been eyeing the Sony a7IV for a while now but man the prices are just staying so high even with the newer models out. I’m out in California and really want to grab a new body before a big hiking trip to Yosemite next month so timing is kinda tight.
I’ve been looking around and found that B&H and Adorama have these EDU discounts that look amazing but since I graduated years ago I don't think I can actually use those... or can I? Not sure how strict they are. Then I read some stuff on Reddit about Greentoe where you bid on gear and get it from authorized dealers for way less but honestly it sounds a bit sketchy to me. Does the warranty still hold up if I go that route? I also checked some open box stuff at Best Buy but the units near me look like theyve been through a war zone lol.
My budget is pretty firm at $2000 total for the body and maybe a kit lens if I can swing it but I’d rather put the money into a better body if the deals are out there. Where do you guys usually go to find the absolute deepest discounts on Sony Alphas that aren't scams?
> found that B&H and Adorama have these EDU discounts I grabbed my Sony a7 IV 33MP Mirrorless Camera Body through Greentoe for $1950 last year. It was a legit authorized dealer, and the warranty was valid when my shutter failed. Shipping was fast tho.
