I'm considering switching to Fujifilm for my wedding photography business. I've heard great things about the image quality and color science of Fuji's X-series cameras and lenses. For those who shoot Fuji, how do you find the lenses perform for typical wedding shooting scenarios? Are they sharp, fast-focusing and reliable? Would love to hear your experiences and recommendations on which Fuji lenses work best for weddings. Thanks!

I've been shooting weddings with Fujifilm X-series cameras and lenses for the past 2 years and absolutely love them! The prime lenses like the 23mm f/1.4, 35mm f/1.4, and 56mm f/1.2 are incredibly sharp, even wide open, and produce beautiful bokeh. The focusing is fast and accurate, even in low light reception scenarios. I also use the 16-55mm f/2.8 zoom which is great as an all-around versatile lens. The color rendition is fantastic and the lenses are built very well. I highly recommend Fuji for wedding work.

Quick reply while I'm waiting for some files to export... honestly you dont need to drop ten grand to get a pro setup. Over the years I've found some killer ways to save cash while still getting that wow factor for clients. If you're just starting the wedding grind, check out the third-party stuff because the quality is basically identical now.

  • Viltrox 75mm f1.2 AF Fuji X - total beast for ceremonies and costs way less than the Fuji 90mm.
  • Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 DC DN Contemporary - tiny, sharp, and way cheaper than the red badge Fuji zooms.
  • Fujifilm XF 35mm f2 R WR - cheaper and faster to focus than the old f1.4, plus it's weather sealed. Ngl, people sleep on the used market too. Buying second-hand from reputable sites has saved me literally thousands. Just make sure you have a dual slot body for backup because card failures are real and they suck... been there once, never again lol.

Another vote for Fujifilm lenses for wedding photography. I switched from Canon to Fuji last year and have been impressed. In addition to the primes mentioned, I've found the 50-140mm f/2.8 to be an excellent telephoto zoom for ceremonies and portraits. The optical image stabilization works great. The 90mm f/2 is also a stellar portrait prime. Fuji's lenses are top notch and I've found them to be very reliable for the demanding conditions of wedding photography.
