Just pulled the trigger on a new X-T5 and im so hyped to finally start shooting with it but now im totally stuck on what glass to actually put on the thing. I spent hours reading reviews and everyone keeps saying the old 18-55mm kit lens is a classic but then I saw some forum posts saying it doesn't really resolve the full 40 megapixels on the new sensor which kinda scares me since I want those crisp shots. Then there is the 16-80mm f4 but people say it gets soft at the long end or the edges? Its honestly so confusing trying to find that one lens that can just stay on the camera most of the time.
Im heading to Tokyo next month for a two week trip so I need something that can handle everything from street shots to landscape stuff near Mt Fuji.
- budget: trying to keep it under 900 bucks if possible (used is fine too)
- weight: dont want it to be a massive brick around my neck all day
- use case: mostly travel and everyday family stuff
- weather sealing: would be a huge plus since it rains there a lot
Should I just get the 18-135 even though its older or is the new 18-120 pz better for photos too even if it looks like a video lens? help me out before I just panic buy something haha...
