okay so i just panic-bought the panasonic s5ii for my trip to iceland next week and i just realized it doesnt actually come with a lens?? i am totally freaking out because i have zero clue what i need. i just want one lens that can do everything like mountains and also people without me having to switch things out constantly. i have about $900 left in my budget and i need to order it like today so it gets here in time.
sorry if this is super basic but what is the best lens that just works for everything? i keep seeing numbers like 24-105 and 20-60 and i dont know what any of that means for a beginner...

I have used a few L-mount lenses and the Panasonic Lumix S 24-105mm f/4 Macro O.I.S. is the safest bet for a one-lens setup. It is weather-sealed which is basically mandatory for the spray from waterfalls and rain. The 24mm end is wide enough for landscapes and 105mm is great for people. The other option is the Panasonic Lumix S 20-60mm f/3.5-5.6. It is way cheaper and lighter, but the build quality is not as rugged. While the 20mm is wider for those big mountains, you lose a lot of zoom range. Tbh, for a big trip, the 24-105mm is more versatile. It keeps a constant f/4 aperture so it wont get darker as you zoom. Order it today so you can test it before you fly.
