So I just picked up a Panasonic S5II for my kids graduation in June but honestly Im totally lost with all the technical stuff. I have like 2000 dollars set aside for a really good lens but every time I look online I just get overwhelmed by all the different names. Sigma and Leica and Panasonic all use the same mount right? I really want something that makes the photos look super crisp and clear because I hate when things look blurry or soft. Sorry if this sounds really basic but I just dont know where to start looking for the highest quality. Which prime lens offers the sharpest image for Leica L-mount cameras?
In my experience, sticking with the pro-grade lines is the safest bet for sharpness. Over the years I've tried many and these are the cleanest:
- Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG DN Art L-mount: Unbeatable for graduation portraits. Its clinical and incredibly crisp.
- Panasonic Lumix S Pro 50mm f/1.4: This is Leica-certified. Built like a tank and basically flawless. Both are reliable choices that wont disappoint.
