I am finally heading to Japan in about three weeks for a two week trip through Tokyo and Kyoto and I am trying to figure out my lens situation for my Z6ii. I usually shoot landscapes back home but this trip is gonna be more street photography and temple shots so I really dont want to be lugging around a huge bag of glass all day. I have about 1200 bucks max saved up for this and I am stuck between a few setups. Option one is just getting the 24-200mm f/4-6.3 because the convenience seems amazing for travel even if it isnt the fastest lens and I hate switching lenses in the rain or crowded places.

But then I saw people raving about the 24-120mm f/4 S which looks way sharper though I lose that extra reach. Then there is the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 which would be great for those low light alleys in Shinjuku but I worry 28mm isnt wide enough for some of the architecture stuff. I am really torn between the superzoom convenience or going for the higher quality S-line glass even if it means less range and carrying an extra prime. If you had to narrow it down based on your own trips what would be the top three travel lenses for Nikon that actually balance weight and quality?

Unfortunately the 24-200mm was disappointing. I dont trust the superzoom, so just get the Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-120mm f/4 S, Nikon NIKKOR Z 14-30mm f/4 S, and Nikon NIKKOR Z 40mm f/2.
