What is the best all-around lens for Sony mirrorless cameras?

I finally pulled the trigger on a Sony A7IV and I am heading to Japan next month for three weeks. I have been scouring YouTube and everyone says the 24-70 GM II is the holy grail for a one-lens setup but honestly I cant justify spending $2300 right now. I saw the Tamron 28-75 G2 is way cheaper and gets good reviews but then I saw people saying 28mm isnt wide enough for street stuff in Tokyo. My budget is capped at like $1500 and I just want one lens that stays on the camera for the whole trip. Should I stick with a zoom or maybe grab a 35mm prime? It is so hard to decide with all the options out there...

I was in the same boat last year and ended up playing it safe with the Sony FE 24-105mm f/4 G OSS. I know everyone obsesses over f/2.8 but for travel, having that extra reach to 105mm is a lifesaver. It is super reliable and the autofocus is native so you dont have to worry about third-party glitches or focus hunting. A few things that made me choose it:Constant f/4 is plenty for daytime street shots and travelBuilt-in stabilization (OSS) works really well with the A7IV body24mm is definitely wide enough for Tokyo architecture I spent a lot of time on sites like RTINGS and Sony Alpha Blog looking at sharpness charts before buying. Honestly, you gotta check out the Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Art for Sony E instead. I took it to Osaka last year and that extra 4mm width compared to the Tamron saved me so many times in those tight neon alleys! It is an absolute beast for way less than the GM. Seriously, it hasnt left my camera since I got it. Youll love it!
