So Ive been shooting Sony for about three years now and honestly I thought I had my kit sorted out with my 35mm and 85mm primes but I just got booked for this huge outdoor wedding in Lake Tahoe next month and Im freaking out a little bit because I realize Im gonna be stuck in the back during the ceremony and I cant just keep swapping lenses while the bride is walking down the aisle. I need a high end zoom that actually holds up to the G-Master quality because my clients are paying a premium and I cant afford any soft shots or missed focus. Ive been looking at a few options:
- Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II
- Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Art
- Tamron 35-150mm f/2-2.8
I'm also worried about the autofocus speed on the third party stuff compared to native glass especially since Ill be on the A7R V and those 61MP files show every tiny mistake. Budget is about $2200 max so I could swing the Sony if its truly the king but is it really worth the extra grand over the Sigma? My head is spinning with all these conflicting YouTube reviews and I just need to know what is actually considered the top rated zoom lens for Sony E-mount bodies right now...
