Im trying to figure out which zoom is actually the king for my A7IV right now. I got a wedding shoot coming up in two weeks and my current primes just arent gonna cut it for the ceremony stuff.
Ive been looking at the Sony 24-70 GM II because its so light but man that price tag is steep like 2300 bucks. My logic was maybe just get the Sigma 24-70 Art instead since its way cheaper and people say the glass is basically the same quality. But then I worry about the autofocus speed because I really cant miss these shots. Budget is around 2k max really... is the extra grand for the Sony name actually worth it or am I just overthinking it?
I have been very satisfied with the Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Art for Sony E for professional wedding work. The autofocus is reliable on the A7IV and I have no complaints regarding the optics. While the Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II is lighter and features faster tracking, the Sigma provides superior value for a 2k budget. It delivers professional results without the premium price tag. Dont overthink it, honestly.
