According to the latest rumors from CR, the upcoming Canon EF 70-300mm lens replacement will have USM and not STM. It will be called “Canon EF 70-300mm F4-5.6 IS II USM“.
This new lens will replace to the current EF 70-300mm F4-5.6 IS lens and will be announced in August, 2016.
The current Canon EF 70-300mm lens was released almost ten years ago. It is still very popular due to its low price at $449 only.
