This is the first image of the upcoming Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 DC DN Contemporary Lens. It will be announced on October 19 at 13:00 London.
Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 is so small that you can’t think of it as a standard zoom through F2.8. The filter diameter is 55mm, which is comparable to the standard zoom of the F3.5-5.6 class. With such a compact size, it doesn’t hurt to keep this lens on all the time.
According to the latest information from the Digital Camera Information Bureau under the eaves, the domestic mass retailer price of this lens is 66,000 yen (tax included), and it seems likely that the lowest price will be 59,400 yen.
Compared to Sony E 16-55mm F2.8G and Tamron 17-70mm F2.8, the zoom range is narrower, but with this size and weight, it seems that you can easily carry it with the same feeling as the kit zoom.
