Nikon has just officially announced the new Nikon Nikkor Z 40mm F2 lens. It is a compact, full-frame lens for Nikon Z-mount mirrorless system. The lens is just 46mm (1.8″) long and weighs 170 grams (6 ounces), making it easy to carry around. The lens has 6 elements, 2 of which are aspherical. A ‘Super Integrated Coating’ is designed to reduce ghosting and flare. The 40mm F2 has a minimum focus distance of 29cm (11.4″) while the max magnification is 0.17x. The lens is ‘dust and drip resistant’ and accepts 52mm filters.
Along with Nikon Z fc (Amazon/ B&H/ Adorama), Nikon also officially announced Nikon Nikkor Z 28mm F2.8 (SE) lens. It is a fairly compact prime lens with a “retro” appearance to match the company’s Z fc mirrorless body, featuring 9 elements in 8 groups, including two aspherical design, two stepping motors (STM) , the minimum focus distance of 10cm (3.9″) and the max magnification of 0.2x.
