Panasonic has just officially announced the new Panasonic Leica DG VARIO-SUMMILUX 25-50mm F1.7 ASPH Lens. It is a fast-aperture telephoto zoom lens for Micro Four Thirds cameras, featuring 50-100mm equivalent focal length range, 16 elements in 11 groups, one aspherical lens and three Extra-low Dispersion (ED) lenses and one Ultra-high Refractive lens (UHR). Focus is silent and internal, with a 9-bladed circular diaphragm and the manual focus ring is a ‘clutch’ design, allowing you to pull it back to engage manual focus complete with a distance scale. It is sealed against dust and moisture.
