I shot with EF bodies for ten years but finally grabbed an R6. Honestly the RF lens lineup is throwing me for a loop. I need one solid walkaround for street stuff and family shots since I'm gonna be in Seattle. Budget is around $1200.
What do you think is the best all-around lens for an R6?
Ive tried many setups over the years but honestly the Canon RF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM is the only one I truly trust for everything. In my experience, its just safer to have that L-series weather sealing, especially in rainy Seattle. Its right at your budget limit but totally worth it for a reliable walkaround... super sharp and basically never leaves my R6.
Catching up... do you need a zoom for family or is a prime okay? In my experience, Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 IS Macro STM is safer for low light street work. Get a filter.
I grabbed a Canon RF 24-240mm f/4-6.3 IS USM for a trip. Its a decent budget all-in-one because that huge range handles everything for families without needing pricey swaps, honestly.
Big if true
