What is the best all-around lens for a Canon R6?

Im honestly so annoyed trying to figure this out before my Ireland trip next month. Ive been looking at the RF 24-105mm f/4 L because everyone says its the standard go-to but then I see people complaining its too dark for indoor shots or late evenings. Then theres the 24-70mm f/2.8 which sounds perfect but its way over my $1200 budget and looks like a literal brick to carry around all day.

I just want one lens that stays on my R6 for the whole vacation so I dont have to miss shots while fumbling in my bag. Is there a middle ground Im missing or should I just suck it up and get the f/4 and hope the IBIS saves me...

I had the exact same panic before my last big trip. I was so worried about missing shots in dim cathedrals or at sunset that I almost broke my budget on a massive f/2.8 lens. In the end, I stuck with the f/4 zoom and I am so happy I did. It stayed on my camera for ten days straight. I felt a lot safer not having to swap glass in the wind and rain, which is a huge deal when you are traveling. The stabilization is actually a lifesaver. I took plenty of handheld shots in dark rooms and they came out crisp. Honestly, having that extra range for landscapes was way more useful than a faster aperture would have been. It worked well for me and I have no complaints at all... it really made the trip stress-free. I think youll be totally fine with that setup.
