im so lost with all these lens numbers and i feel like i wasted my money on this r6 if i cant even figure out which glass to get. i just want to take pretty pictures of people with those blurry backgrounds but everyone talks about 35mm or 50mm or 85mm and i dont know what that even means for portraits.

  • budget is max 500 bucks
  • need it for my nephews birthday next week in dallas
  • want something easy because i dont understand the settings yet

sorry if this is a dumb question but which one should i buy that isnt gonna break the bank or be too hard to use? i just want it to look professional...

I was so nervous about picking the wrong glass for my R6, but I ended up very satisfied with the Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 STM. It works well for family events, like when I shot my sisters graduation last summer. The background blur is lovely and it didnt break the bank at all. For under 200 bucks, its a safe bet that delivers professional results without any stress.
