Which prime lens should I buy for my Canon 90D?

Ive been using zooms on my 90D for years but the sharpness just isnt hitting anymore. Looking for a prime for street photography here in Chicago.

Budget: $450 max

Use: low light street and some portraits

Sharpness over everything else

Is the 24mm pancake too slow or should I spring for the 35mm?

The 24mm pancake is gonna feel way too slow for low light. In my experience, you want at least f/2 for street work at night. Over the years I've found the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC HSM Art for Canon EF to be the absolute sharpest option for that 90D sensor. It hits way harder than the Canon EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM. Spring for the Sigma or a used Canon EF 35mm f/2 IS USM.
