What is the best prime lens for Canon EOS R6 portraits?

Im honestly just so over my current setup right now and I feel like I am failing my clients because of it. I bought the R6 last year thinking it would be this massive upgrade but I have been stuck using my old adapted EF 24-70mm and it is just... not it. The images look okay I guess? But they lack that actual professional pop and honestly the adapter makes the whole thing feel so front heavy and clunky and I keep missing focus on the eyes during my sessions which shouldnt even be happening with this sensor. I had a portrait session with a couple last weekend at a local park and I came home and looked at the raws and I literally wanted to cry because so many of them were just slightly soft or the background was way too busy and distracting.

I have a huge graduation shoot coming up in three weeks for a family friend and I am genuinely panicking because I cant go in there with this zoom lens again. I need a prime that is actually going to make the R6 shine. I have been looking at the RF 85mm f1.2 but lord that price tag is terrifying and I dont think my bank account can handle a $2,700 lens right now since I just spent a ton on a new computer. My budget is more like $1200 maybe $1400 tops if I really stretch it. I do mostly outdoor portraits here in the PNW so it is often overcast and I want that really smooth creamy blurry background but it has to be tack sharp because I am so tired of guessing if the eye is actually in focus.

Should I just get the f1.8 version or is that gonna feel like a cheap downgrade? Or maybe the 50mm? I have heard the 50mm is classic but I am worried it wont give me that compression I need for the flattering face shots. I just want to feel confident in my gear again instead of fighting it every single time I press the shutter button. What is the actual best prime for this body that wont make me go broke but actually looks professional...
