I saw some rumors about X-T5 bundles online but they look like old 2023 stuff. I was thinking of grabbing an X-T50 for my Japan trip in December, so my logic was maybe wait for the big sales?
- I heard Fuji doesnt do big body discounts
- Mostly lens promos
Is it worth waiting?
In my experience, waiting for Fuji body sales is risky. Id grab the Fujifilm X-S20 26.1MP Vlogging Camera now... just to ensure youre actually ready for that December trip.
Honestly, I would be careful about waiting for a massive price drop on the Fujifilm X-T50 Mirrorless Camera with XC 15-45mm Lens. Fuji is pretty notorious for keeping their body prices stable, and since that specific model is still relatively new to the market, a big Black Friday discount is kinda unlikely. Too risky to wait. You might see some small bundles or maybe a deal on the Fujifilm X-T5 Mirrorless Digital Camera Body since its been out longer, but even then, it is usually just a few hundred bucks off at most. I would suggest buying it now to ensure you actually have it in your hands before December. Shipping times can get pretty messy during the holiday rush, and you definitely dont want to be panicking about a delivery while you are packing for Japan. Plus, you really need time to test the sensor and make sure there are no defects before you leave... it takes time to learn the menus tho. Its better to be safe and pay full price than to risk not having a camera for your big trip. Also, make sure to pick up a reliable card like the SanDisk 128GB Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-I Card so you dont lose any photos. Just be careful with those too good to be true sites you see in search results. Stick to the authorized dealers so your warranty is actually valid. Better to be safe than sorry with such an expensive investment.
Unfortunately, Fujifilm body deals are usually underwhelming. I had issues with stock during past Black Fridays so waiting is risky. If you want to stay on budget for Japan, dont count on the X-T50 dropping. Consider a refurbished Fujifilm X-T30 II 26.1MP Mirrorless Digital Camera instead. Then just grab a Fujifilm XF 23mm f/2 R WR Lens when the lens promos hit. Its much more cost-effective.
