Where can I find the best Canon R6 deals right now? I seriously need to find one like yesterday because my main body just started throwing error codes and I have a wedding shoot in San Diego next Saturday and I'm freaking out. Ive been scouring the web and I saw some refurbished ones on the Canon site for like $1300 which would be perfect but they are constantly out of stock every time I click. Then I saw some listings on eBay for $1600 but the sellers have zero feedback or they are shipping from overseas and it just feels super sketchy to me. I checked B&H and they only seem to have the Mark II in stock brand new which is way out of my budget since Im trying to stay under $1500 total for the body. Is there some hidden site or a specific used dealer I should be looking at? I even checked Fred Miranda but everything sells so fast there I cant even get a message in. Im honestly panicking a bit cause I need a reliable backup and the R6 fits my current lens setup perfectly and I dont have time to switch systems. If anyone knows if theres a specific day of the week they restock the refurb store or if there's a reputable shop I'm missing please tell me...

Just saw this and I would suggest checking MPB or KEH instead of eBay. You might want to consider a used Canon EOS R6 20.1MP Mirrorless Camera Body from a reputable dealer since they actually inspect the gear. Make sure to look for a unit with a 6-month warranty. Id avoid those overseas listings entirely... they are usually too good to be true and wont arrive by Saturday anyway.

> they are constantly out of stock every time I click Dude, I totally feel the panic! I snagged my Canon EOS R6 20.1MP Mirrorless Body from the refurb store by using a stock tracker. Seriously, check out Canon Price Watch. They alert you the second its back in stock! Also, hit up MPB or KEH for a Canon EOS R6 Mirrorless Camera Body. Theyre super reliable and usually have them under $1500. Youll kill it at the wedding!

Re: "Facts." - honestly, i am in the exact same boat and it is driving me absolutely insane. My old setup finally bit the dust last Tuesday right before a big commercial gig, and I have been frantically hunting for a used body that wont break the bank ever since.

  • i have been refreshing that refurb page until my fingers hurt
  • every single time i see a listing on a forum it is already marked as sold
  • checking local shops but they have nothing but new inventory It is just wild how quickly these things are getting snapped up lately. I have been dealing with this for almost two weeks now and still have nothing to show for it... it really feels like looking for a needle in a haystack when you are on a tight deadline and everyone else is looking for the same thing.

I've been thinking about your situation and man, it brings back some bad memories. I once tried to save a few hundred bucks on a Canon EOS R6 Mirrorless Camera Body from a seller that seemed legit but turned out to be shipping grey market gear. I didn't realize it until I tried to get a service a year later and Canon told me they wouldn't touch it because it wasn't a US model. It's a huge risk when you're shooting weddings professionally. Since you're on such a tight deadline, here's my advice for staying safe:

  • Be very wary of any 'new' listings under $1500 that aren't from the official refurb site; they are almost always imports without a US warranty.
  • You might want to check the used inventory at some of the bigger regional shops like Samy's or Mike's Camera. They have used sections that don't always get the same crazy traffic as the big national sites.
  • If the R6 remains elusive, look at a Canon EOS R8 Mirrorless Camera. It's missing the dual slots which is scary for weddings, but the AF is actually better and it's way easier to find in your budget. I've found that Canon's used stock is way more unpredictable compared to other brands lately. Just make sure you get some kind of 30-day guarantee from whoever you buy from. I'd hate for you to get to that wedding and have a sketchy body fail mid-vows because it wasn't inspected properly.

Wow ok that changes things. Gonna have to rethink my approach now.

Saw your post earlier today and wanted to jump in since i have been using the R6 for a while now and i am still super satisfied with it. It is a total workhorse for weddings. Finding one under $1500 before Saturday is definitely tricky but i have a couple questions to help narrow the search:

  • Are you open to buying a body with a high shutter count if it means keeping the price low?
  • Have you checked if any local rental houses in San Diego have used stock they are looking to offload? Its a great camera and has worked so well for me... you are gonna love it once you finally track one down. Good luck with the wedding!
