Does anyone know where I can snag a Canon R6 Mark II deal that actually ships fast because my original R6 just bit the dust during a family shoot and I have a huge wedding coming up in exactly 12 days. I am literally panicking lol because I need a body like yesterday.

Right now I am torn between two options I found:

  • B&H has a used one in 'Condition 9' for $1,940 which fits my $2,100 budget perfectly but I am always a little sketched out by used gear when I have a high-stakes job.
  • Adorama has it new for $2,299 and they throw in a fast SD card and a bag but that puts me over budget and I still need to pay for expedited shipping to get it to Brooklyn in time.

I also checked the Canon refurbished site but they are out of stock and I dont have time to wait for a restock notification that might never come. Should I just bite the bullet and go over budget for the peace of mind of a new one or is the B&H used rating usually solid enough for professional work? If anyone knows of a secret discount code or another shop in the NYC area that has it cheaper please let me know...

Look, I've been through exactly this and panicking before a big gig is basically a rite of passage for photographers. Ngl, if you are in Brooklyn, you have the absolute best advantage because you can just hop on the subway to 34th St instead of stressing about shipping times or porch pirates. In my experience over the years, B&H ratings are incredibly conservative. A Condition 9 is usually indistinguishable from new... maybe a tiny scuff on the box or a fingerprint on the screen. I have bought multiple bodies and lenses from their used department for high-stakes professional work and never had a single failure. They actually inspect that stuff unlike some random person on eBay. Honestly, I would just grab that Canon EOS R6 Mark II Mirrorless Camera Body used for $1,940. It saves you enough cash to pick up a top-tier card like the Lexar Professional 2000x 128GB SDXC UHS-II which you definitely want for those high burst rates anyway. Going over budget for a bag and some extras you probably dont need just to get a new box is a classic trap. Since you have 12 days, grab the used one today, spend this weekend stress-testing the sensor and the autofocus tracking, and you will be golden for the wedding. If it makes you feel better, B&H gives you a 30-day return window even on used gear, so you're not actually risking anything. Just go down there and get it in your hands so you can stop stressing...
