I am finally doing it!! Im finally upgrading from my trusty old D850 and my Z6 because I just cant deal with carrying two systems anymore and that Nikon Z8 is calling my name lol. Ive been staring at the specs for months and honestly the autofocus alone makes me want to cry with joy compared to what im used to. I live out in a rural area so I dont have any big camera shops nearby but im gonna be in New York City next week for a few days so I was thinking maybe B&H or Adorama?

But then I see everyone online talking about MPB and KEH. MPB gave me a quote of like $1400 for the D850 and around $700 for the Z6 which seems okay? But Adorama is doing that thing where they give you an extra 10% trade-in bonus if you put it towards a new body and since the Z8 is like $3500-4000 depending on the sale that extra bit might actually be huge for my budget. My total budget is basically whatever I get for these plus like 1500 bucks out of pocket. I really want to make sure I get the absolute most back because that Z8 is expensive as hell.

Im super nervous about shipping my gear off to one of those online places though because what if they get it and then downgrade the condition I put in and suddenly im stuck with a lower price? B&H is right there in the city so I could just walk in which sounds way less stressful but i heard they can be kinda stingy with trade values compared to the others. I also looked at KEH but their quotes seemed a little lower than MPB's latest estimate.

Im trying to get this all sorted before my trip to Iceland in exactly three weeks so the clock is ticking big time and I need the new camera in hand to practice. If I go to Adorama in person do they give you the same deal as the website or is it better to do the online quote first? Basically torn between the convenience of B&H vs the potential extra cash from Adorama's bonus vs the solid reputation of MPB even though its a bit slower. Has anyone had better luck with one of these for Nikon gear specifically lately?
