Recommendation for a budget zoom lens for Fujifilm X-T30 II?

I am honestly so fed up with the 15-45mm kit lens on my X-T30 II. The power zoom is just driving me crazy. It keeps resetting every time the camera sleeps and it feels like a cheap toy. My logic was that I could live with it for the size but I am ready to toss it before my Italy trip next month.

I was thinking maybe the 18-55mm? But people want like $400 used now which is insane. I looked at the Tamron but its way too big for this tiny body. Im stuck wanting something sharp but budget is strictly under $400. Is there anything else that doesnt feel like plastic junk...

Totally agree with the 18-55 recommendation, it is literally iconic! But if that price tag is still too high, you should definitely check out:

  • Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 DC DN Contemporary
  • Its tiny and fits the X-T30 II vibe perfectly
  • That f/2.8 aperture is amazing for night shots in Italy! Ngl, i found one used for $390 last month... total game changer!

> The power zoom is just driving me crazy. Honestly, i went through the exact same thing when i first started with my older fuji. That power zoom lag is a total dealbreaker. I eventually snagged a used Fujifilm XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4 R LM OIS and it changed everything. It uses a linear motor so the focus is way snappier. Its mostly metal too, so it feels pro. Just watch the used market, you can definitely find one under 400 if you hunt.
