I am honestly so fed up with using this bulky zoom on my X-Pro3 it is just ruining the whole experience. I bought the 18-55 thinking it would be versatile but it feels massive and completely kills that compact rangefinder vibe. I am heading to Tokyo next month for a week of street shooting and I need something that actually fits in a pocket and doesnt weigh me down. My budget is strictly under 600 bucks because the body already cost a fortune.
I am looking at these options:
- xf 23mm f2
- xf 35mm f2
- the 27mm pancake
Which prime actually nails the balance of size and speed for fast street work on this body?
Tokyo is gonna be a blast with that camera. Honestly, any of those primes will feel like a massive upgrade in terms of handling over that bulky zoom. To figure out which one nails it for you tho, are you more of a wide-angle person for those busy street scenes, or do you prefer a tighter frame for portraits? Also, do you shoot mostly during the day or at night?
