Which wide-angle lens is best for landscape photography on Fujifilm X-T4?

So I finally saved up and got the Fujifilm X-T4 after seeing so many cool photos online but honestly I feel like a total idiot trying to figure out the lenses. I have the one that came in the box but it feels like it doesnt catch the whole view when I'm looking at something big. I am planning a trip to Zion National Park next month and I really want to get those huge landscape shots you see in magazines but I have no idea what I'm looking for.

I keep seeing stuff about wide-angle lenses but the numbers are all over the place. Like is 10mm better than 18mm? I don't really get how it works and I'm worried about buying something that doesn't fit or just looks weird. My budget is kind of tight, maybe $800 tops since I'm still paying off the camera itself. I've heard people mention the 10-24mm one but then someone else said a 14mm is better and I'm just spinning.

What lens should I actually get if I want to take really wide mountain pictures and maybe some stars at night without it being too complicated for a beginner who doesn't know what they are doing?

@Reply #1 - good point! Focal lengths can be a total headache when youre starting out. I've spent about a decade shooting Fuji and honestly Zion is a tricky beast because the scale is just massive. I remember my first trip there... I brought a cheap zoom and everything looked flat because I didnt understand how to frame the scale. Over the years, I have tried just about every wide lens for the X-series. If you want those stars and sharp mountains, here is what I have found actually works for your budget:Fujifilm Fujinon XF 14mm f/2.8 R: This is a classic. It has been in my bag forever because the distortion is basically zero. That is huge when you are looking up at canyon walls and dont want them looking like they are melting.Viltrox 13mm f/1.4 STM: This is probably the best value right now. It is wider than the 14mm and that f/1.4 aperture is a beast for Milky Way shots. Tbh, its better for stars than almost any Fuji lens at that price. Whatever you pick, dont forget a decent tripod. Even the best glass wont save a blurry star shot if the camera is shaking in the wind.

Saw your post earlier and wanted to jump in because I went through the same confusion when I started. Basically, the smaller that mm number is, the wider the view. So 10mm sees way more of the mountain than 18mm does. Ive been shooting with the Fujifilm Fujinon XF 10-24mm f/4 R OIS WR for a long time and honestly I am so satisfied with it. It is super versatile for Zion because sometimes 10mm is actually TOO wide and you want to zoom in a bit. No complaints here, it works well for basically everything. Since you mentioned stars, the f/4 aperture on that zoom is kinda slow tho. You might look at the Samyang 12mm f/2.0 NCS CS for night stuff. It is manual focus but for landscapes it doesnt really matter... it is super sharp and fits your budget perfectly!
