For wildlife photography on the Nikon Z8, I highly recommend the NIKKOR Z 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 VR S lens. Some key advantages of this lens:

• Relatively fast f/4.5-5.6 maximum aperture for a lens in this class
• Built-in vibration reduction (VR) to help minimize camera shake
• Pro-grade build quality with weather sealing
• Fast and accurate autofocus, which is critical for wildlife
• Works great with the Z8's animal eye/face AF

The combination of reach, performance, and the high resolution of the Z8 sensor makes this an ideal wildlife setup in my experience. It's a pricey lens but well worth it if wildlife is your primary focus.

NIKKOR Z 180-600mm lens is another great choice.
