What is the best one-lens-to-rule-them-all for the Z system right now? Ive shot F-mount for years but the Z 24-70 f/4 kit feels way too short for my Scotland trip next month. Budget is around $1100 and I am debating the 24-120mm S or if I should just grab a fast prime instead...

Unfortunately, the Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-200mm f/4-6.3 VR was not as good as expected and I had issues with the sharpness. If you need more range than the kit, just get the Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-120mm f/4 S. Its basically the best travel lens. Look for a refurbished copy to save some cash. TL;DR: The 24-120mm S is the best bet, just buy used.
